Who we are

Be Only You Boutique ("we", "us", "our") operates the online store beonlyyouboutique.com and is responsible for your personal information when you visit the site, place an order or contact us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What information we collect

  • Contact and order data: name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, order details, payment confirmation (we never receive your full card number; payments are handled by our payment processors)
  • Account data: username, password and security details, if you create an account
  • Customer service data: the content of your messages to us
  • Usage data: IP address, device and browser information, and how you use the site, collected via cookies and similar technologies

We collect this information directly from you when you place an order, create an account or contact us, and automatically when you browse the site. If you choose not to give us the details an order requires, such as a delivery address, we cannot process that order.

Why we use it

  • To process and deliver your order, handle returns and refunds, and provide customer service
  • To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and consumer law
  • To send you marketing emails if you have subscribed or the law otherwise allows it, always with an unsubscribe link in every message
  • To secure the site and prevent fraud, and to improve our services
  • To understand how the site is used and to show you relevant advertising, using analytics and advertising cookies (see Cookies below)

Who receives your information, including overseas recipients

We share personal information only where needed:

  • Our fulfilment partner in Ningbo, China, which receives your name, delivery address, phone number and order details to pack and ship your order. We share only the data needed to deliver your order, under our agreement with this partner
  • Shopify, which hosts our store (see Shopify's privacy policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy)
  • Payment processors (payments at our checkout are processed by Shopify Payments), shipping carriers, customer support and analytics providers acting on our instructions
  • Advertising partners such as Google, through advertising cookies that you can switch off as explained under Cookies below
  • Public authorities where the law requires it

Be Only You Boutique is an international online store: our orders are fulfilled from China, and our team and service providers work from several countries. Your information is therefore handled outside Australia, principally in China (delivery data) and in the countries where our team and service providers such as Shopify operate, including the United States, Canada and member states of the European Union. We take reasonable steps to make sure these recipients handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to make the site work, and analytics and advertising cookies to understand how the site is used and to show you relevant ads. You can refuse or delete non-essential cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can switch off personalised advertising from Google in My Ad Center (https://myadcenter.google.com). For cookies set by Shopify, see https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

How long we keep your information

Order and invoice data: as long as required by tax and accounting laws (in general up to 7 years). Customer service correspondence: up to 3 years after the file is closed. Marketing data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent. Account data: until you delete your account. Usage data: for the lifetime of the cookies concerned.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate, out-of-date or incomplete information corrected
  • Ask us to delete information we no longer need
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time, with the unsubscribe link or by contacting us
  • Withdraw any consent you gave, without affecting prior processing
  • Contact us with a general question without identifying yourself, where that is practical

Exercising these rights is free. Contact us at info@beonlyyouboutique.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, contact us first and we will try to resolve it; we answer privacy complaints within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC, www.oaic.gov.au).

Children

Our services are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect children's data. Parents or guardians can contact us to have such data deleted.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page with the date of the last update.
